Q. Doesn’t Government provide funding for healthcare program and service needs?
A: A large percentage of our tax dollars are spent on health every year, yet the government is not in a position to pay for every healthcare program and service need. Our Foundation has always played a key role in bringing state-of-the-art equipment and innovative health programs to our communities when government funding is not immediately available, or when support of health programs and services is desired by our communities quickly, without having to wait for government funding to be provided for specific needs.

This is why we seek your support – to help ensure quality healthcare remains in our community, when and where we want it most.

Q. How does the Health Foundation affect recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals?
A: Recruiting and retaining top healthcare professionals is becoming an increasing challenge for all health facilities across Newfoundland & Labrador, especially in rural settings. Recruitment and retention is about offering a quality work setting and up-to-date equipment so that health professionals can deliver the best possible patient care. It is imperative to have modern equipment, programs and services in order for professionals to maintain and grow their skills, especially in rural communities. Our donors are critical in the provision of this modern equipment and technology, and investment in innovative programs and  services.

Q. Can I direct my gift to support a specific program or area of interest?
A: Absolutely. We understand that you may have had a personal experience or reason to support a particular area within our healthcare system. If you wish to designate your gift please contact the Foundation by E-mail or call, (709) 256-5742. We can help ensure your gift can be put to work where a need exists. All undesignated gifts go to the area of greatest need at the time received.

Q. How can I be assured my personal information will not be traded or sold to other groups or organizations?
A: Our donor information is confidential and is not traded, rented, sold or shared with any outside individual, organization or group. Donor information is used for Foundation fundraising purposes only, in accordance with CRA regulations. If at any time you wish to be removed from our mailing list, please contact our office at: 709-256-5742, email us at foundation@centralhealth.nl.ca or write to us at P.O. Box 222 Gander, NL A1V 1W6.
