About the Foundation

Our registered charity was formed in 1989 to help build healthier communities. Our office is located in the North Courtyard across from the chapel in James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander, however, we serve people accessing the health programs and services of Central Health and living in communities throughout the central and northeastern regions of the island of Newfoundland.

The Central Northeast Health Foundation serves the region from Glenwood in the west to Charlottetown in the east and north through the Eastport Peninsula, New-Wes-Valley, Fogo Island, Twillingate and all points in between. This is a vast geographic area covering nearly 12,000 square kilometers. The population in this region is approximately 40,500 individuals living in approximately 89 communities.
