Special Events Coordinator
Temporary Full Time (8 weeks)


The Central Northeast Health Foundation is in need of a Special Events Coordinator for a period of 8 weeks from approximately May 27th, 2024 through July 19th, 2024 inclusive. This position is funded through Service Canada (Canada Summer Jobs Partnership). The wage offered is $15.60 per hour.

The preferred candidate will have experience or knowledge with Business Administration, Commerce, Public Relations, Marketing, or Community Studies. The individual must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment and be knowledgeable in computer applications such as a word processing and desktop publishing.

The successful candidate should be comfortable interacting with the public, excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to participate in the care of our patient garden is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of initiative and enjoy working as part of a team to achieve success.

A valid driver’s license, good driving record, a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and a medical pre-placement assessment are requirements of the position. The preferred candidate will be 19 years of age or older.

The Special Events Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with community fundraising events like the Gold Mine 50/50 Lottery, Fly Your Car and our Golf for Health Tournament, among others, assist with marketing and development activities, and assist with the upkeep of the Lakeshore Healing Garden.
