The Notre Dame Bay Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has been a dedicated supporter of local healthcare since its founding in 1981.
The idea for the Auxiliary began with four community-minded women: Mary Woodruff, Joan Dennison, Audrey Hussey, and the late Madeline Earle. Together, they approached then-Hospital Administrator Ed Colford about forming a volunteer group to support the hospital—and later that same year, the Auxiliary was born with 41 founding members.
🎉 40+ Years of Community Support
In 2021, the Auxiliary proudly celebrated its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of volunteer service and fundraising.
Over the years, this passionate group has raised and contributed over $100,000 to support healthcare improvements in the region. Their impact is seen in a wide range of essential equipment purchases, including:
- Portable defibrillators
- Pediatric crash carts
- Transport stretchers
- Geriatric chairs
- And much more
The Notre Dame Bay Memorial Hospital Auxiliary continues to play a vital role in enhancing the quality of care in Twillingate and surrounding communities.
