James Paton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary
The James Paton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary started in 1979. They can be seen within our hospital on a daily basis helping where and when they can. They are busy raising funds for the various programs and services within the facility. The group currently has approximately 80 members Some of the more recent investments which the Auxiliary has made at James Paton Memorial include: a pediatric crash cart, a colposcope for the gynecology clinic, and palliative care room revitalization.
Gambo Hospital Auxiliary
With approximately 20 members to their credit, the Gambo Hospital Auxiliary can be seen volunteering on the Nursing Floor of James Paton Memorial. They have been involved in numerous projects over the years and dedicate themselves to health in this region.
Notre Dame Bay Memorial Hospital Auxiliary
The Notre Dame Bay Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Twillingate has been in existence since 1981. At that time four ladies: Mary Woodruff, Joan Dennison, Audrey Hussey and the late Madeline Earle approached Ed Colford, the Hospital Administrator at the time, about the possibility of forming an Auxiliary. Later that year the Auxiliary was formed with a membership of 41 individuals. In 2006 they celebrated their milestone 25th Anniversary and throughout the years they have contributed over $80,000 towards healthcare in our region. Some of their purchases over the years include a portable defibrillator, pediatric crash carts, transport stretchers, geriatric chairs, and much more.
Fogo Island Hospital Auxiliary
The Fogo Island Hospital Auxiliary consists of volunteers from all communities on Fogo Island. The organization was formed over 30 years ago under the direction of Myrtle Best, President and Edna Payne, Treasurer. Today they are still a very active group with 21 members. They have been busy over the years assisting the Health Centre by purchasing such equipment as an Ultrasound Machine, Infusion Pump, Patient Lift, wheelchairs, a portable Fetal Dopplex monitor and much more.
